HOLD ON WAIT A SECOND WHAT
Hey folks! Chapter 4 is coming to an end! It’s taken a while due to the slow schedule, but it’s still been a pretty great ride, yeah?
I’ve got some announcements to make. Next weekend, April 24th and 25th, I’ll be a guest at ShikaCon, my hometown’s first anime convention! I’ll be debuting a new full color minicomic there, starring a face you may be familiar with if you enjoyed chapter 3:
That’s right, Slimepunk has his own comic now! And Faerie Ishee is in it! Here’s a page from it:
I’ll also be at our local comic shop, Mountain Empire Comics, on May 2nd for Free Comic Book Day, don’t miss out on that!
Hey! I’m not very good at writing blog posts for this comic. I’m sorry.
Are you guys enjoying chapter 3? Things have been pretty crazy, haven’t they? Looks like Clara and Faerie Ishee have the situation under control, though. Slimepunk isn’t the most useful, but he does try. He’s based off of me quite a bit, actually, so it’s understandable.
I’ve got a little bit of lousy news: with my schedule being what it is, it’s now a little too stressful for me to keep updating twice a week. The plan is, once this chapter is finished, I’m going to be cutting down to just a page a week for chapter 4. That’ll make things a little easier on me, and it shouldn’t make much of a difference for readers, seeing as how I don’t have that huge of an audience in the first place.
It’s only temporary. Hopefully, somewhere down the line, I’ll be able to build up a decent lead and move back to updating twice a week. Hope you guys aren’t too let down and keep reading, because things are just going to keep getting more and more exciting! Chapter 4 is going to have a handful of new characters and a pretty, um, alien experience for Clara to deal with. Stick around!
Oh hey! The first chapter concluded last week! Chapter two begins tomorrow! Well, technically Thursday, tomorrow’s page is just the cover, BUT STILL.
So…what do you all think? How’s it going? Are you enjoying the comic? Having fun? I hope so, because I’m having such a good time drawing it. Today I drew two sweaty dudes arm wrestling and a great big burrito. This is stuff I never really get to draw with my other comics, you know? But really, any feedback would be greatly appreciated. I feel like I’m just shouting into a void here.
As you can guess, Gregory has his own website, a Tumblr, and his graphic novel Heroes of Sinclair just recently went up on ComiXology, so if you like what you see, show him some support.
And hey, if you’re into Cannonball Fist too, why not consider sharing it with the world? Tell your friends! Post it on Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, whatever! Start talking! Seriously, it’d be awesome if you do.
Anyways, back to work. Too much to do, can’t fall behind! See ya later!
Oh hi! I just realized, this comic’s been going on for about a month now, we’re nearing the end of the first chapter, and I haven’t written a proper blog post yet!
Things are going pretty smoothly so far, although I am scratching my head trying to figure out how to make the site itself look a little nicer. I can’t really do web design terribly well at all, so it’ll be an ongoing process. If anyone has any tips on what I can do, like adding buttons below the comic to go to the previous or next page or something (I‘m not too thrilled with that gray bar), let me know, yeah?
If you’re reading this because you visited my table at HeroesCon last weekend and picked up a postcard, THANK YOU! You’re awesome. Heroes is always a blast, and this year was the best yet. People seemed really thrilled by the fact that I’m doing a webcomic about a girl who punches monsters in the face. More promoting needs to be done, though. Gotta put in that hustle, yes. TELL YOUR FRIENDS.
So…what do you think of the comic so far? What do you think of Clara, of Southpaw City and its inhabitants? Feedback is appreciated! Comment here, or email me at email@example.com if you’ve got something to say!
Already I’ve got a few people requesting when the comic will be in print, and, well, it is WAYYYYYY too soon for me to be thinking about that. I’m contemplating a small print run of the first chapter to have at conventions, because I feel like the postcard and original art for the pages doesn’t get things across about the comic quite like I want. This year alone though, I’ve gotten my graphic novel Other Sleep, the 4th issue of Burst Reach, AND my October Game comic Shouting at the Void printed, so…I’d kind of like to sell more of those before I do anything else. Maybe a trade collecting the first handful of chapters somewhere down the line would be good, we’ll see.
Stick around though, because things are just going to keep getting better and better. This is the most fun I’ve had working on a comic in a while. Cheers!
Hey everyone, Brett here. Cannonball Fist has now LAUNCHED, starting with the first TEN pages, so be sure to start from the beginning. I know the navigation bar being up top is annoying, but you can use the arrow keys if you want to quickly cycle through pages.
There’s still some messing around with the site to be done, so don’t get too used to the look of things. For one thing, I just realized how obnoxiously tall the banner at the top of the site is, wow. I’ll take care of that soon.
From here on out, Cannonball Fist will update with a new page every Tuesday and Thursday for the foreseeable future. Hope you enjoy it!
